Care Assistant – Avon View

Contract Type: full time, part time, relief

Salary: £9.79 to £10.19 per hour plus enhancements

Avon View is a residential home that offers accommodation to 81 clients, divided into smaller units all with a shared lounge and kitchen, and an en-suite in each room. The home is situated near the town centre of Christchurch. We work in a person-centred way providing support for people living with complex care needs.

Key responsibilities will include: 

• Supporting clients with personal care, nutrition and hydration.
• Complying with Health and Safety requirements in respect of moving and assisting and the use of equipment.
• Maintaining dignity, privacy and respect for our clients.
• The ability to work flexibly across shifts including days, evenings and alternate weekends.

The successful candidate should have:

• The ability to follow care plans and instructions.
• Good communication skills.
• Empathy with the needs of the clients.
• IT skills with the ability to maintain accurate records.
• NVQ Level 2 in Direct Care or willingness to achieve this.
