Assistant Cook – Avon View

Salary: £9.60 to £9.99 per hour plus enhancements

Avon View is a residential home that offers accommodation to 81 clients. The home is situated near the town centre of Christchurch. We work in a person-centred way providing support for people living with complex care needs.

Key responsibilities will include: 

• Preparing, cooking and serving meals in accordance with approved menus.
• Cleaning kitchen areas and equipment to required standards.
• Maintaining high standards of hygiene and cleanliness.
• Checking deliveries for quality, quantity and description.
• Ensuring all kitchen equipment used is kept in efficient working order. 

The successful candidate should have:

• Practical cooking skills with experience of food preparation.
• Good food hygiene knowledge.
• An understanding of health and safety requirements.
• Good communication skills and be a strong team player.
