With the support of Friends of Stour Connect, our community café opened on 5th February, when we were pleased to welcome the Mayor and local councillors to our opening ceremony. Initially we will be open on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 0830 – 1230. Our café will be run by volunteers, with the support of Dorset Volunteering Centre, helped by pupils from Yewstock SEN school, who will benefit from working in a café environment. We hope to recruit more volunteers so we can open every day so if you would like to support us as a volunteer, please get in touch.
You will find us at Stour Connect, Stour View Close, Sturminster Newton DT10 1JF. Telephone 01258 472957
Do stop by and support your local community.
Friends of Stour Connect (FoSC)
We could not have achieved this without the fantastic support of the Friends of Stour Connect. FoSC is a charitable organisation dedicated to improving facilities and access at the Stour Connect Day Service in Sturminster Newton.
Through their projects and their invaluable contributions, we are now able to offer services such as meals on wheels, the Stour Shed, Connect Sports from Stour Connect as well as the community café.
Further information about the FoSC can be found at their website: https://www.friendsofstourconnect.org/ If you are interested in volunteering to help in our café or with our meals on wheels deliveries or in any other of the services, please contact the Friends of Stour Connect to see what you can do to bring about positive change.
