Congratulations to the volunteers at Ferndown Plus Day Service who were presented with an award by the Mayor of Ferndown at the annual Voluntary Awards ceremony held just before Christmas.

We are delighted that they have been recognised for their outstanding support and hard work over many years and for the contribution they make to our service.  As well as supporting individual clients in group activities, our volunteers provide opportunities for clients to engage in one to one activities for a true person-centred experience.

The photos show our volunteers receiving their award, from left to right Joan Callen; Billy May (Manager of Ferndown Plus); Lady Mayor of Ferndown; Margaret Baker; Carol Weaver; Barbara Birkett; Pam Weedon and Mike Nash, and our volunteer Barbara Birkett who runs our Knit & Natter group with one of our clients, Elizabeth Johnstone, with some of the decorations the group made for our Christmas trees.

We would also like to pay tribute to our volunteers who were unable to attend the award ceremony: Edward May, Jill Wilcox, Pam William and Maggie Blyde.
