Facilities, activities and services offered
The service supports people with significant and enduring mental health issues by providing structured and goal led services. It specialises in assisting clients to become more independent and enabling them to focus on recovery and wellness by offering a wide range of relevant activities with achievable goals, allowing them to make the most of their skills and abilities and improve their mental health.
Clients are supported through a variety of activities, including tennis; bowling; light physical activities; swimming; art and craft classes; creative writing; exploring the internet; health and wellbeing; positive health and feel good groups; cookery; pottery; gardening; community walks and sailing. Various locations in the community are visited to provide interest and encourage independence.
All clients receive 1-1 support throughout each month to enable them to discuss any issues or problems with their keyworker to help resolve them.
A 12-week programme of recovery will be offered to enable people who are motivated to improve their mental health to access assistance and support. These sessions will include money management; confidence building; benefit advice; medication assistance; health and wellbeing. Clients will be signposted to other organisations that can provide further advice and guidance.
Support to carers
Signposting, advice and guidance is provided to carers. Regular carers days are held to ensure that carers have information and guidance on their rights.
