Purbeck Connect is a purpose-built centre based in the picturesque market town of Wareham, on the Sandford Lane industrial estate. It is a 15-minute walk from the town centre and a 5-minute walk from the train station with easy road access.
It has a variety of different facilities and rooms, including a sensory room.
Facilities, activities and services offered
The service offers a variety of different activities to promote independence and support their clients to live fulfilling lives. These include: sensory art; baking; jewellery making; knit and natter groups; music therapy; stretch and relaxation; dancing for all; bingo; pamper sessions and gardening, together with independent living skills sessions. There is also a book club and clients can enjoy and relax in the purpose-built sensory room. Clients are supported to go swimming and to aqua fit.
There is a small coffee bar on site, which is run by clients and staff.
Support to carers
The team provide a support network for carers, offering guidance and advice. Carers coffee mornings are held throughout the year. The service offers daily respite attendance to support carers.
Purbeck Connect is open from 9.30 am to 3.30 pm Monday to Friday. It is closed at weekends and bank holidays.
The sensory room is available for hire. Charges and further information are available on request.
