Bridport Connect is on the outskirts of Bridport, near to the sea at West Bay (famously known as ‘Broadchurch’ in the recent TV series!)  There is a vibrant local community and clients are supported to enjoy shopping; cultural and physical pursuits and refreshments in the town. The building is complemented by an attractive garden where clients grow flowers and vegetables.

Facilities, activities and services offered

A wide range of activities are offered to promote well-being and stimulation including cooking; music and movement; gardening; crosswords; board games; reminiscence and memory games; indoor ball game; relaxation; art and crafts and music appreciation.

Outings are arranged to the local street markets and cafes; the Freedom Boat and the donkey sanctuary nearby as well as to other places of interest. Music entertainment, which is provided by local musicians, is held regularly. The service has a ukulele group, which was invited to open the annual folk festival by performing in the town square.

Tricuro’s Oh Crumbs Café is nearby and provides clients with an appetising two-course meal each day. The café also provides catering training opportunities for clients.

Support to carers

Families and carers of clients are supported through signposting and advice, and the staff are always available to talk informally about any concerns or challenges they may be facing. The service offers daily respite attendance to support carers.
